Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a Security Officer for the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR. You will protect life and property on assigned shifts, supervise staff, and ensure safety and security across the campus.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of experience (supervisory preferred), strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs; a valid driver's license is required. Full-time, 8-hour shifts with varied schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 lbs. and frequently climb stairs and walk outdoors on uneven terrain.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform security officer duties and provide supervision to staff to protect life and property on assigned shifts.
• Ensure the physical security of buildings, center vehicles, and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical equipment, and locks.
• Advise and train security officers in security procedures.
• Assist in transporting students and reporting and suppressing fires.
• Act as liaison with neighboring law enforcement and fire agencies.
• Schedule guard station coverage and check-in procedures.

Schedule –

Full Time, 8-hour shifts, varies: Wednesday & Thursday: 3PM to 1:00 AM; Saturday & Sunday: Midnight to 10:00 AM; Scheduled day off: Monday, Tuesday, Friday with occasional overtime.

Education And Experience Requirements
