Job summary

Ripple is seeking a Senior Staff Security Engineer to lead product and infrastructure security for the Treasury BU. You will design secure architectures, model threats, and drive secure software delivery across Azure and AWS.

You will mentor security engineers, scale security champions, and collaborate with governance to meet regulatory requirements. A strong background in FinTech/crypto is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Security Engineering experience in Product and Infrastructure Security.
• Expert-level product security skills including threat modeling using STRIDE or equivalent and security architecture reviews.
• Proven experience securing multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud IAM, network, and Kubernetes security.
• Hands-on with DevSecOps tooling: static/dynamic analysis, SCA, secrets scanning, container scanning, and CI/CD integration.
• Strong software engineering skills (Python, Go or equivalent) to build tooling and automate controls.
• Experience with cryptographic principles, key management (HSMs, PKI, key rotation) and financial infrastructure security.
• Background in FinTech/crypto or high-stakes environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own security for Ripple Treasury, including assessment through remediation and maturity.
• Lead threat modeling and security architecture reviews across Treasury offerings.
• Own SDLC security for product surface area with guardrails and secure-by-default guidance.
• Drive cloud security design across Azure and AWS with IAM, segmentation, encryption, and zero-trust controls.
• Collaborate with GRC to meet SOC 2, ISO 27001, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead vulnerability discovery, triage, remediation, and validation with automation.
• Build Security Champions within Treasury Engineering and mentor engineers.
• Influence senior engineering decisions and raise security concerns in architecture reviews.
• Translate emerging threats into defensive improvements across platforms.
