Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Security Engineer III to join the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls team in Seattle. You will design, build, and maintain secure software across the SDLC, leveraging cloud platforms (primarily AWS) and IaC tools to ensure robust security controls.

The role emphasizes secure coding, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to deliver compliant, auditable solutions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Experience developing security engineering solutions for enterprise apps.
• Documented experience building enterprise applications using Java.
• Documented experience using AWS or other public cloud technologies.
• Ability to review AI-assisted code/security recommendations with strong data handling awareness.
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages and SDLC/CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain software across the full SDLC with security in mind.
• Follow secure coding standards, secret management, vulnerability remediation, and security testing.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code to provision scalable, secure environments.
• Build cloud-native solutions with AWS, IAM, networking, and performance considerations.
• Apply DevOps practices to improve productivity, reliability, and monitoring.
• Participate in on-call rotation and triage incidents, performing root-cause analysis.
• Align security solutions with internal client requirements and existing security controls.
• Utilize AI capabilities to accelerate security analysis and validation of outputs.
• Create secure production code and maintain resilient algorithms.
• Lead security awareness, training, and exercises within the team.
