Job summary

Ring is seeking a security engineer to analyse the security of applications and services, identify and fix issues, and build automation to respond rapidly to threats. You will mentor junior engineers and help shape security practices across the organization.

You will develop elegant, scalable security solutions, apply best practices, and contribute to security training and tooling. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with development teams, and continuous improvement of security

Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools.
• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years of (non-internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
• Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse the security of applications and services, discover and address security issues, build security automation, and respond quickly to new threat scenarios.
• Develop elegant solutions to complex business problems using appropriate technologies while following security engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a security thought leader for the organization.
• Contribute to security training and outreach to internal development teams and produce security guidance documentation.
• Develop security tools and deliver security metrics to drive improvements.
