Job summary

Liberate seeks a Senior Security Engineering lead to own production cloud security across AWS, Kubernetes, and devops tooling in a hybrid Boston/CA setting. You will build the security program, shape the secure SDLC, and partner with product and engineering to ship safely at scale.

You’ll own threat modeling, SOC 2 readiness, incident response, and data protection, empowering engineers with secure defaults and self-service capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure, platform, SRE or security engineering.
• Ownership of security programs for production SaaS.
• Hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and incident response.
• Experience with SOC 2 or comparable compliance programs.
• Proficiency in Python/Go/TypeScript for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve production cloud foundation across AWS, Kubernetes, networking, compute, storage, and production access.
• Build reusable Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and self-service paths.
• Improve reliability with observability, SLOs, DR, and production-readiness standards.
• Lead security design reviews, threat modeling, and incident response planning.
• Establish secure SDLC, including code/dep/scanning and secure defaults.
