Transamerica is seeking a subject matter expert in External Reporting to lead accounting, financial reporting, and SEC filing activities. You will prepare and file forms 10-K/10-Q/8-K, ensure GAAP compliance, collaborate with finance and external auditors, and contribute to SOX controls and process improvements.

Ideal candidates bring deep experience in SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and XBRL, with strong analytical, communication, and advanced computer skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience.
• Eight years of experience with degree.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting/finance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file periodic SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and related disclosures.
• Review and perform analytics in the preparation of financial statements aligned with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations; tag with XBRL.
• Participate in MD&A, footnotes, and non-GAAP disclosures as assigned by the Director of External Reporting.
• Assist leadership in implementing reporting policies and adapting to new regulatory requirements.
• Share knowledge of SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP and reporting tools to develop the department.
• Provide a high level of financial reporting expertise to solve problems creatively.
• Interact with external auditors and manage documentation for audits.
• Actively participate in SOX and internal controls over external reporting.
• Recommend and lead process changes to gain efficiencies through technology.
• Work with other departments to resolve business issues.
