Job summary

H2O America seeks a Senior SEC Reporting Analyst to join its finance team in San Jose, CA. You will participate in annual and quarterly SEC filings, stock compensation administration, and high-accuracy general ledger work.

The role requires GAAP expertise, SEC reporting experience (5+ years), Big 4 exposure and strong Excel and Workiva skills. CPA preferred; travel and cross-functional collaboration may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with significant accounting coursework.
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience, including at least 2 years SEC reporting experience.
  • Big 4 experience preferred; CPA designation preferred.
  • Diversified experience with financial accounting systems; Workiva and equity management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing documents for 10-Q, 10-K and Proxy filings.
  • Administer, post journal entries and report all equity-based transactions and disclosures for SEC filings.
  • Research and document technical accounting issues, significant estimates and new pronouncements.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and oversee XBRL processes and SEC disclosures.
  • Support annual reports for subsidiaries and respond to external auditors.
  • Prepare disclosure checklists and maintain SOX compliance related to financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with management and auditors on analytical, financial, and regulatory analyses.
