Job summary

You will design and implement technical strategy for search, improve latency and relevance, collaborate with ML and product teams to translate user needs into data‑driven innovations, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software development experience.
• 3+ years in search, information retrieval, or related fields.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable systems.
• Hands-on with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch and vector search workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and drive the technical strategy for search within Vannevar Labs' products.
• Improve search latency and relevance.
• Collaborate with ML and product teams to translate user needs into data-informed innovations.
• Research and apply emerging search technologies and evaluation methods.
