Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable SDN solutions for AI cloud workloads, including hyperscale multi-node training and cloud gaming. You will work across the SDN stack from control to data plane, ensure reliability, and contribute to OSS upstreams.

You will design observability, CI/CD pipelines, and secure services with gRPC/REST. Expect a challenging environment with cutting-edge networking and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software development for large-scale distributed environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of OVN, OVS, OpenFlow, and modern network protocols.
• Strong programming in C and Go; Bash and Python scripting.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and deploying CNIs (OVN-Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure-as-Code and deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, Flux).
• Experience designing and operating multi-stage CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with gRPC/REST services using TLS and strong authentication.
• Knowledge of datacenter routing, switching, and Linux host/VM networking.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-tenant cloud SDN control and data plane software (OVS/OVN/OpenFlow).
• Build IaaS virtual network orchestration to meet SLAs for BMaaS, VMaaS, and Kubernetes.
• Contribute upstream to OVN-Kubernetes and related OSS projects.
• Develop software for network observability: monitoring, telemetry, and performance analysis.
• Operate OVS-OVN based SDN solutions in large NVIDIA AI Cloud environments.
• Own end-to-end observability: monitoring, alerting, tracing, dashboards for real-time insights.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines across Linux networking, OVS, OVN, and Kubernetes CNIs.
• Implement GitOps approaches for secure integration with cloud infrastructure.
• Drive reliability via incident management, resource monitoring, and tuning.
• Collaborate with SRE/DevOps and network engineering on production readiness.
