Job summary

System One in Vienna, VA is seeking a Mid-Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a multiyear contract. Hybrid model: 3 days onsite, rest remote. You will design and implement automated tests for UI, API, and databases, contribute to test strategy, and work with Scrum teams.

Must have strong Java, experience with Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, and cloud/Azure is a plus. This role offers exposure to modern open-source tools and a chance to impact delivery quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SDET or automation-focused development.
• Experience with UI, API and database automated testing.
• Proficient in Java and test frameworks (JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end test strategy and automation for UI/API/DB.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to validate acceptance criteria.
• Execute functional, performance and regression testing in Scrum sprints.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve automation frameworks.
• Support production release quality and monitoring.
