Job summary

T-Mobile USA, Inc. is seeking a test automation leader to translate business requirements into automated test deliverables, and to design, implement, and sustain automated test processes throughout SDLC.

You will lead strategy, architecture, and execution to improve quality, maintainability, and performance of test code and frameworks. The role emphasizes collaboration across development, operations, and QA teams to drive continuous delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate relevant work experience in software engineering fields.
  • 4-7 years professional experience using 3+ development languages (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java).
  • 4-7 years professional experience using 3+ automation tools (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, TestNG, Appium, Sauce Labs, Rest Assured, Postman, Cucumber, Jasmine, Protractor).
  • 4-7 years professional experience with testing methodologies and strategies (Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development).
  • 4-7 years professional experience using CA Service Virtualization or equivalent.
  • 4-7 years professional experience using issue-tracking software and agile project management systems.
  • 4-7 years professional experience designing and developing applications on Unix or Windows environments, mobile platforms (Android or iOS) or multi-tier architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain automation systems and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Provide practice leadership by training peers, contributing to quality standards, and managing defect processes.
  • Ensure requirements and user stories are testable and provide input to test activities and estimates.
  • Coordinate with development and operations teams to uphold testing practices and quality thresholds.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned by business management.

Job Overview

This role addresses technical challenges by translating business and functional requirements into test deliverables and systems. It involves developing, implementing, and sustaining automated test processes and controls throughout software development and sustainment lifecycles. The role includes leading and consulting on test automation strategy, design, implementation, and execution. Success is measured by the quality, maintainability, and performance of automated test code and frameworks. The work impacts organizational quality standards and supports continuous delivery through collaboration and practice leadership.

Education and Work Experience

  • Acceptable areas of study include Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field or the foreign equivalent, and 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate relevant work experience. (Required)
  • 4-7 years Professional experience using 3 or more development languages (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java etc.). (Required)
  • 4-7 years Professional experience using 3 or more automation tools (e.g., Cypress (preferred) Selenium, TestNG, Appium, Sauce Labs, Rest Assured, Postman, Cucumber, Jasmine, Protractor, etc.). (Required)
  • 4-7 years Professional experience with various testing methodologies and strategies: Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, etc. (Required)
  • 4-7 years Professional experience using CA Service Virtualization or equivalent. (Required)

Base Pay Range: $89,400 - $161,300Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
