Job summary

Ness Group is seeking a seasoned SDET / Quality Engineering Engineer in New Jersey with 8+ years of QE and test automation expertise. You will design scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and Python, with TypeScript as a strong plus, and drive end-to-end testing across web apps, APIs, and backend systems.

Responsibilities include building robust automation, API validation, database checks, data integrity, and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in Quality Engineering/Testing.
• 5+ years hands-on test automation.
• Advanced Python programming.
• Strong UI/Front-End automation experience.
• Hands-on API automation and validation.
• Experience with SQL data validation.
• SDLC and STLC understanding.
• Experience with defect/test management tools.
• Agile/Scrum environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing.
• Create scalable automated test suites using Playwright and Python.
• Automate end-to-end testing across web apps and services.
• Develop and execute API tests for RESTful services.
• Perform backend/database validations with SQL queries.
• Design test scenarios, cases, and data from requirements.
• Participate in sprint planning and defect triage.
• Identify automation opportunities and improve coverage.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.
• Analyze results and work with dev teams to resolve issues.
• Define quality metrics and best practices; mentor juniors.
