Job summary

Roche Diagnostics seeks a Senior Scientist to join a team developing surface chemistries for NGS-based applications and consumables. You will design experiments to create surface modifications and protocols that enable high-quality consumables for sequencing workflows.

You will work with early-stage instrumentation, analyze sequencing data, and help establish optimal process conditions. A strong background in surface science and data-driven problem solving is essential, with proficiency in JMP

Qualifications

BS with 4+ years, MS with 1+ year, or PhD in Chemistry or related field focusing on surface science and materials modification.
Experience with early-stage instrumentation and devices.
Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings; proficient in JMP and Python.

Responsibilities

Design and execute experiments to develop surface modifications, novel chemistries, and protocols for NGS consumables.
Utilize early-stage instrumentation and software to understand sequencing workflow and consumable requirements.
Drive molecular-level manipulation of material surfaces to engineer surface energy and properties for device performance.
Analyze data, author reports, and present findings with strategic recommendations.
