Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead preclinical MRI imaging strategy and execution. You will design studies, analyze data, and collaborate with biologists, chemists, clinicians, and statisticians across therapeutic areas to support drug development.

Imaging is part of the Research organization in BMS and leads internal and external imaging development and deployment activities to support multiple disease areas of interest including neuroscience, immunology and oncology. The team will integrate scientific insights to provide solutions that will help to enable decision-making for drug development programs.
Position SummaryThe Senior Scientist will be part of a team of imaging scientists engaged in novel preclinical imaging for drug development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the MRI strategy, study design, and execution, as well as data analysis, interpretation, and data presentation. He/she will collaborate with biologists, chemists, clinicians, regulatory, statisticians, and other scientists across all therapeutic areas. The candidate will participate as a member of the discovery and/or development team.
Key Responsibilities

• Ensure daily operation of the MRI scanners and quality of MRI studies in animals
• Implement and develop state of the art MRI acquisition protocols/studies
• Establish complex image analysis and image processing pipelines
• Manage projects and studies in various areas (e.g. oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular)
• Applies scientific and / or technical skills and functional knowledge to conduct experiments / research / studies in assigned area
• May adapt standard methods and techniques by applying breadth of knowledge and prior work experience
• Makes decisions that impact entire work group / project team
• May contribute to initiatives related to continuous improvement or development of new approaches / technologies
• Makes presentations in small, multidisciplinary meetings, logically presenting information to convey clear, key messages
• May represent department or function on program / project team or sub-team

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of academic and / or industry experience
• Master’s Degree with 5+ years of academic and / or industry experience
• Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences with 2+ years of academic and / or industry experience
• Extensive experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and imaging analysis
• Proven track record of hands-on experience in animal imaging
• Requires thorough knowledge of varied aspects or a single specialized aspect of own discipline (MRI) and developed knowledge of other related disciplines (other imaging modalities or multi-modality)
• Is proficient in scientific / technical writing (e.g., regulatory documents, protocols)
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and flexibility to succeed in a dynamic and changing environment is necessary
• Sound knowledge in chemistry and biology for developing successful imaging studies and analysis for drug discovery programs is preferable
• Python, Matlab and preferably Bruker Paravision programing experience

Compensation OverviewPrinceton - NJ - US: $123,670 - $149,855
The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.BenefitsSubject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, you may be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefit plans – including wellbeing support, retirement and financial protection benefits, and insurance offerings (medical, dental, vision, life and disability).
U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.
Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.
