The Research Scientist, Electron Microscopy supports Corning’s characterization team by generating the microstructural and compositional insights needed to solve complex materials problems and enable innovation across Corning’s technologies. This role is primarily focused on TEM/STEM characterization, FIB-based specimen preparation, and EPMA-based compositional analysis as part of a broader microanalysis capability. The position works across a broad range of materials and applications, including glasses, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, biomaterials, thin films, nanoparticles, and nanoscale systems and devices, contributing to materials development, process understanding, and failure analysis. This role is best suited for someone with strong hands-on microscopy skills, sound scientific judgment, and a collaborative approach to solving challenging materials questions in a fast-paced research environment.
The range for this position is $87,079.00 - $119,734.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
