Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Scientist in Molecular and Cellular Bacteriology to drive preclinical bacterial vaccine research. You will develop assays, culture pathogens, and analyze complex data to guide antigen selection and vaccine coverage. You will collaborate across teams and contribute to reports and publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience, or Master’s with 7+ years, or PhD in biology-related field.
• Hands-on experience with bacterial culture and molecular/cellular assays.
• Experience generating, analyzing, and interpreting complex biological datasets.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills; experience with publications and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and apply molecular and cellular assays for bacterial vaccine discovery and development.
• Culture, maintain, and characterize disease-causing bacterial strains for assay development.
• Generate and interpret laboratory data to identify and prioritize vaccine targets.
• Analyze antigen diversity and expression to assess conservation and breadth of coverage.
• Drive cross-functional collaborations to produce high-quality data and support decision-making.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to study reports, regulatory submissions, abstracts, and manuscripts.
