Overview

Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Scientist to work in our Arlington, Virginia office. This position is contingent upon contract award. Everforth ECS Federal is seeking a Senior Scientist candidate to provide onsite support to DARPA's Microsystems Technology Office (MTO). MTO plays a key role in breakthroughs and innovative technologies, which requires a superior level of technical, analytical, financial, and general administrative support encompassing a broad range of expertise in technologies and disciplines for existing and future DARPA MTO efforts.

The successful candidate will support a DARPA program manager by participating in or leading activities in project management, technical and programmatic risk analysis, program-funded test coordination, and coordination with members of the Department of Defense for transition. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating meetings, assessing performer technical progress, projecting performer outcomes, and ensuring that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) entities funded by DARPA, and within DARPA itself. Duties range from developing point papers, slide decks, and other materials that convey the need, status, and importance of a program to researching unique problem set ideas to aid in National Security priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in or lead project management activities for DARPA MTO programs.
  • Perform technical and programmatic risk analysis and coordinate with IV&V entities and DARPA staff.
  • Coordinate program-funded test activities and monitor progression of performer milestones.
  • Prepare and present materials (point papers, slide decks) that convey program need, status, and importance.
  • Research and propose novel solutions to support National Security priorities.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Senior-level experience in planning and developing technical projects of a research and development nature with outcomes affecting major DoD programs
  • Ability to conceive, plan, and conduct research in complex problem areas using unconventional approaches and sophisticated techniques
  • Proven ability to independently analyze issues and provide recommendations and solutions for DARPA-related topics
  • Experience in senior leadership roles within technical organizations and providing strategic scientific guidance
  • Recognition as an expert in their field with extensive published work and thought leadership
Desired Skills
  • 10+ years of experience with one or more DARPA programs is highly desirable
  • 7+ years of experience working with DARPA Program Managers is highly desirable
