Job summary

Datacor, Inc. is seeking a mid-level to senior developer to join the GoldSim modeling and simulation team in the United States. You’ll own numerical solutions, design algorithms, and implement them in our C++ codebase, pushing practical improvements driven by customer needs.

Role involves documenting methods, collaborating with the engineering team, and building models to validate new algorithms, with opportunities to apply machine learning to accelerate simulations.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
• Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods for solving science and engineering problems.
• Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
• Extensive C++ programming experience in scientific/engineering applications; familiarity with numerical libraries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the numerical solutions and mathematical/computer science algorithms underlying GoldSim's simulation engine—from theory to implementation in C++.
• Push practical, real-world improvements to GoldSim's numerical capabilities and propose new features driven by customer needs.
• Participate in design discussions across the full development lifecycle, including the mathematical layer.
• Build GoldSim models that exercise the platform's numerical capabilities for QA, verification, and customer support.
• Document the theoretical basis and practical implementation of GoldSim's numerical methods to share knowledge.
