This role bridges advanced chemistry with marketing strategy, translating complex cosmetic science into consumer-ready claims and visuals. You will lead collaborations across Marketing, Safety, Analytical, and Evaluation teams to design robust testing programs and compelling narratives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related scientific discipline is required.
• 5-10 years of proven cosmetic/personal care industry experience, with focus on claims substantiation and scientific communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global organization.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to translate technical information for senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite in Clark, NJ and collaborate with international teams.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientific Liaison to join our Cleansing Formulation Development team. This unique role focuses on the specialized science of rinse-off products, surfactants, barrier respect, and makeup removal technologies, serving as a vital catalyst between groundbreaking research and global marketing strategy.

A Day in the Life:

As a Scientific Liaison in Cleansing Formulation Development, your responsibilities will include:

• Marketing Partnership & Strategic Guidance: Act as the vital link between science and business. Collaborate closely with Marketing teams to translate complex cleansing technologies into compelling consumer benefits and innovative marketing concepts.
• Scientific Communication & Integrity: Safeguard our scientific integrity by rigorously reviewing all marketing materials, including packaging, advertising copy, e-commerce descriptions, and digital content for technical accuracy and consistency.
• Innovation & Creative Brainstorming: Serve as a creative scientific catalyst. Uncover emerging technologies and novel ingredient narratives through literature reviews and market trend analysis to substantiate groundbreaking performance claims.
• Translate scientific insights and trends: Link science to local and consumer relevance in an easy to understand way (via lab demos, key visuals and claims)
• Claims Orchestration & Testing Coordination: Direct the end-to-end product claims process. Coordinate with Safety, Analytical, and Clinical/Consumer Evaluation teams to design and execute robust testing (clinical, instrumental, and consumer) that supports high-impact Marketing requests.
• Partner cross-functionally to develop innovative new claims: inlucding integration of cognitive science and consumer perception into new creative testing protocols, effectively bridging rigorous scientific data with compelling consumer claims.
• Data Analysis & Technical Reporting: Transform raw data into strategic insights. Analyze complex test results and author comprehensive technical dossiers to support new innovations and the evolution of existing product lines.
• Public Relations & Brand Ambassadorship: Step into the spotlight as our brand's technical expert. Provide scientific support for PR activities, address media inquiries, and lead technical briefings at high-profile press events and industry conferences.

We Are Looking For:

You are a visionary problem-solver who can distill complex physical chemistry into engaging narratives for diverse, non-scientific audiences.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline is required.
• Experience: 5-10 years of proven experience in the cosmetic or personal care industry, with a specific focus on claims substantiation and scientific communication. Direct experience with cleansing formulations or skincare is a distinct advantage.
• Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the agility to manage competing priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.
• Communication Mastery: Stellar presentation abilities with a track record of translating complex technical information into clear, actionable, and persuasive narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Global Collaboration: Ability to thrive in an international, multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating seamlessly with diverse technical and commercial teams worldwide.
• Strategic & Creative Mindset: An "outside-the-box" thinker who challenges the status quo and develops innovative solutions to complex scientific and marketing challenges.
• Digitally Savy: proficient in Ai tools to create impactful key visuals and videos that demonstrate scientific mode of action and/or benefit, sensory, and experience
• The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required)
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)

• Base Salary Range: $90,200 - $128,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
