Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and data management solutions across discovery and development. You will translate workflows into scalable platform capabilities, oversee configuration, testing, and deployment, and ensure data traceability and regulatory alignment.

The role requires hands-on experience with Dotmatics or similar ELN platforms, strong chemistry domain knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Has strong domain experience in medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, process chemistry, chemical development, or discovery research.
• Experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or comparable scientific informatics platform.
• Understands experiment and reaction capture, chemical structures, compound registration, stoichiometry, and data traceability.
• Experience gathering requirements, configuring workflows, testing, and managing controlled releases.
• Provides platform leadership and stakeholder guidance beyond end-user support.
• Experience with Signals Notebook, BIOVIA ELN, IDBS, Benchling, or similar platforms
• Familiar with Python, SQL, REST APIs, scientific data integrations, migrations, and reporting
• Experience in pharmaceutical R&D or regulated environments is preferred
• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, CS, Eng, or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments and data management.
• Translate workflows into user stories, specifications, data mappings and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, testing, deployment, and support.
• Design and optimize capture of experiment data, structures, stoichiometry and registration workflows.
• Guide integrations with registration, inventory, assay and instrument systems.
• Lead migration, data validation, reporting, and data integration activities.
• Coordinate chemists, informatics teams, validation, security, infra, product owners and vendors.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, release notes, and workflow docs.
• Ensure platform meets scientific, data integrity, security, and regulatory needs.
• Provide leadership beyond end-user support, including roadmap planning.
