Job summary

Zaddy Solutions in Seattle is seeking a PhD-level scientist to own numerical and algorithmic development for advancing our water resources and engineering simulation framework. You will build and verify models, document knowledge and help transfer expertise across teams.

Responsibilities include collaborating with software engineers to integrate new capabilities, formalizing QA, and driving modernization efforts. Strong math, C++, and experience with AI/ML in scientific software are essential.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
• Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods for science/engineering problems (e.g., matrix algebra, PDEs).
• Earth sciences or civil engineering background, preferably including contaminant transport modeling.
• Extensive C++ programming experience in scientific/engineering apps; familiarity with numerical libraries is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and implement practical numerical solutions.
• Good communications skills; write effectively and enjoy collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Own numerical and algorithmic development for modeling capabilities.
• Model building and verification.
• Documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with software engineering to integrate new numerical capabilities into the framework.
• Partner with the founding engineer to formalize modeling QA and support methodology.
• Growth and modernization: apply AI/ML to accelerate, approximate or extend traditional numerical methods; identify opportunities to modernize infrastructure.
