Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Sr. SCADA Engineer for Sparks, Nevada to lead SCADA/HMI projects in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

You will optimize production through Ignition SCADA and PLC integration, aiming for robust, scalable automation solutions. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 8+ years of SCADA experience, strong Python scripting, and in-depth knowledge of ISA, Modbus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, MQTT, and OPC UA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of SCADA/HMI engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong expertise with Ignition SCADA and PLC integration.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Advanced knowledge of ISA, Modbus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, MQTT, OPC UA.
• Background in high-volume manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of electrical hardware, schematics, and sequence control.
• Strong cross-functional and global collaboration skills.
• First-principles, analytical approach to problem solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Working-level fluency in English (read, write, speak).
