Job summary
Trissential is seeking a Senior SAP Technology Solution Architect to lead architecture for large-scale SAP initiatives across application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure domains. This is a technology-focused role, not purely functional SAP architecture, with responsibility for architecture direction and governance.
Hybrid work model with three onsite days weekly in Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN under a contract-to-hire arrangement.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of Technology Solution Architecture experience in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale solutions across application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure domains.
- Deep SAP architecture experience including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP BTP.
- Experience leading architecture decisions for large-scale enterprise implementations.
- Strong understanding of integration architecture, API design, middleware platforms, event-driven architectures, and system-to-system communication patterns.
- Strong understanding of security architecture concepts including authentication, identity, transport-layer security, message security, and encryption.
- Experience participating in architecture governance processes and standards compliance.
- Ability to assess technology risk and evaluate architectural tradeoffs across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop architecture roadmaps and solution designs aligning business objectives with enterprise strategy.
- Design and govern enterprise SAP solutions across applications, integrations, data, security, and infrastructure.
- Lead architecture decisions and guide full solution lifecycle delivery.
- Evaluate alternatives and recommend best-fit, balancing functionality, security, resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and cost.

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite in Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H) Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
We are seeking a Senior SAP Technology Solution Architect to provide architecture leadership for large-scale SAP initiatives within the Work Execution and Plant Maintenance domain. This is not a functional SAP architect role. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded Technology Solution Architect with deep SAP expertise and the ability to design, govern, and guide solutions across application, integration, data, security, infrastructure, and operational domains. The architect will own technical solution direction, architectural integrity, and delivery quality across complex initiatives while ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture standards, technology roadmaps, and long-term business objectives.
This role is primarily a Technology Solution Architecture position with SAP domain specialization.
Candidates must possess broad Information Systems architecture experience and be comfortable making architecture decisions spanning:
- Enterprise applications
- Integration and middleware platforms
- Security architecture
- Data architecture
- Infrastructure and hosting models
- Cloud and platform services
- Operational supportability and resiliency
Candidates whose experience is primarily focused on SAP functional design, business process architecture, solution leadership, or SAP configuration without significant technology architecture responsibility are unlikely to be a fit.
- 8+ years of Technology Solution Architecture experience in large, complex enterprise environments.

- Experience collaborating with infrastructure, security, engineering, operations, and business teams.
- SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) expertise.
- SAP Work Management experience.
- Utility, Energy, or other asset-intensive industry experience.
- SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration experience.
- SAP BTP implementation and modernization experience.
- TOGAF or comparable enterprise architecture framework experience.
Architecture Leadership
- Develop architecture roadmaps and solution designs that align business objectives with enterprise technology strategy.
- Design and govern enterprise solutions across SAP applications, integrations, data platforms, security controls, infrastructure, and operational support models.
- Lead technical architecture decisions and provide guidance throughout the full solution lifecycle.
- Evaluate architecture alternatives and recommend best-fit solutions balancing functionality, security, resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and cost.
Technology Solution Design
- Define high-level and detailed architecture designs that satisfy both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design secure and scalable integrations between SAP and enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, messaging, events, and batch-based patterns.
- Translate business requirements into end-to-end technology solutions spanning multiple enterprise platforms.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, availability, disaster recovery, operational readiness, and supportability requirements.
Governance & Standards
- Review and approve architecture designs for compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
- Participate in architecture governance forums and manage architecture exceptions when needed.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture patterns, standards, and reference architectures related to integration, security, data, and platform technologies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve overall application landscape health.
Delivery Leadership
- Lead technical direction across internal delivery teams, vendors, and system integrators.
- Ensure architectural integrity is maintained from design through implementation and production support.
- Assess technology, integration, security, and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Partner with product owners, engineering teams, security teams, infrastructure teams, and operational support organizations to ensure successful delivery.

- 6+ years of SAP architecture and enterprise solution delivery experience.
- Proven experience architecting solutions across application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure domains.
- Experience delivering complex solutions through the full SDLC.
- Demonstrated ability to influence architecture decisions across large, cross-functional organizations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Relevant SAP or architecture certifications (preferred but not mandatory)
- TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification (nice to have)
