Job summary

The City of San José seeks a Senior Systems Applications Programmer (Sr. SAP) to develop technology solutions that maximize City services. This 100% on-site, individual-contributor role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, development, and maintenance of hybrid systems across on-premises and cloud environments.

The salary ranges from $129,270.96 to $157,182.48, with approximately 5% ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Five days on site weekly is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as specified and three years of progressive experience in computer systems applications programming.
• Strong programming skills across front-end and back-end languages and web technologies.
• Experience with API design, HTTP protocols, and database querying.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy fully tested application solutions to production.
• Support and maintain existing applications, and train staff on new feature releases.
• Administer Geotab GPS tracking hardware and manage the Geotab portal.
• Provide customer support, troubleshooting and resolve technical issues for end users.
• Identify bugs and enhancement opportunities for inclusion in release cycles.
• Recommend new software development or third-party solutions as appropriate.
• Serve in an on-call rotation as needed.
• Author Crystal Reports.
