Agility Robotics is seeking a Senior Safety Software Engineer to build and validate functionally safe perception software for humanoid robots. You will bridge cutting‑edge tech and safety principles, collaborating with ML, hardware, and core software teams.
The role demands robust C/C++/Rust development for embedded safety-critical systems. The position offers remote work with hybrid options from Salem, OR, and requires strong software architecture and testing discipline.
Agility's commercially deployed humanoids operate alongside teams in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers—tackling physically demanding and repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on higher-value work. With industry-leading safety standards and years of proven deployment data, we're pioneering a new era of automation that enhances human potential.
Agility Robotics views safety not as a regulatory constraint, but as a fundamental commercial gateway that is absolutely required to move humanoid robots out of isolated work cells and into shared human environments. You can't build your robot and then make it safe - functional safety must be baked into the hardware, electrical systems, and software from day one.
We are seeking a Senior Safety Software Engineer to play a critical role in implementing a functionally safe perception system. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cutting‑functional technology and functional safety principles. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and validate safety‑critical software architecture. If you are passionate about building robust systems that push the boundaries of modern robotics and automation while maintaining uncompromising safety, we want you on our team.
We know that great candidates come from diverse backgrounds. Even if you don't check every box below, we highly encourage you to apply.
This is a fully remote role with the option to work hybrid if a commutable distance from our Salem, OR, Pittsburgh, PA, or Fremont, CA offices.
