Job summary

Balchem Corporation in Verona, MO is seeking a Safety Manager to provide direct EH&S leadership across the site. You will ensure safe work conditions, drive process safety management, and coach management on hazard recognition and control. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include leading EH&S programs, audits, training, and incident investigations while collaborating with corporate EH&S on Balchem-wide initiatives. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an EH&S related Science or Engineering field
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in EH&S program management with PSM-regulated facility experience
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%
• Proven people management and team-building skills with ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills
• Professional certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of site EH&S programs and policies
• Perform safety inspections and compliance audits
• Coordinate with corporate EH&S for Balchem-wide programs
• Conduct safety training and certifications
• Investigate accidents and incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure exposure evaluations for noise, particulates, gases and fumes are conducted
• Prepare safety and compliance reports for management and external bodies
• Support site safety culture and regulatory compliance
