Job summary

SMX is seeking an experienced Senior SAC Architect to design and implement robust budgeting, planning, and reporting solutions for federal government clients. The role spans SAC Planning and custom JavaScript widgets, with data integrations to SAP and non-SAP sources.

You will lead architectural decisions, mentor team members, and partner with UX/UI designers to deliver scalable solutions. This remote role supports a Washington, DC based customer and requires a federal clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field (Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent).
• 8+ years designing and building Budgeting, Planning & Reporting solutions with 4+ years hands-on SAC Planning development.
• Technical lead or architect on at least two full lifecycle SAC Planning implementations.
• Expert-level SAC data modeling, data actions, stories, and analytical applications.

Job description

SMX is seeking an experienced Senior SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Architect to join our innovative Solutions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, architecting, building, and implementing robust budget planning, and reporting solutions for our federal government clients. This hands‑on role extends beyond native SAC into custom widgets, JavaScript development, and integration with SAP and non‑SAP data sources. You will work in a supportive, team‑oriented environment where knowledge sharing and mentorship are key to our collective success. This role is remote supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Federal clearance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Translate business and functional requirements into solution architecture and technical design documents.
• Architect, build, test, and deploy SAC planning solutions, including data models, data actions, multi actions, stories, and analytical applications.
• Design and develop SAC custom widgets and advanced JavaScript that extend SAC beyond native capabilities.
• Define data integrations between SAC and source systems such as SAP S/4HANA, BW/HANA, SAP Datasphere, and non‑SAP systems.
• Establish development standards, reusable components, and code review practices across multiple customer environments.
• Serve as technical lead for customer demos and proofs of concept.
• Partner with UX/UI designers and other SAC developers on design and technical feasibility.

Required Skills & Experience:

• U.S. Citizenship required; must be eligible to obtain a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years designing and building Budgeting, Planning & Reporting solutions, including 4+ years of hands‑on SAC Planning development.
• Technical lead or architect on at least two full‑life‑cycle SAC Planning implementations.
• Expert‑level skills in SAC data modeling, data actions, stories, and analytical applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, including building SAC custom widgets or comparable web components.
• Experience integrating SAC with SAP S/4HANA and/or BW/HANA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to technical teams and senior client stakeholders.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Federal budgeting and/or financial management experience (e.g., S/4HANA Funds Management, budget formulation and execution)
• SAP Datasphere experience
• Federal delivery experience, including government cloud environments
• SAP BW/4HANA, BPC, or BW-IP planning background
• AG Grid, React, or other front‑end framework experience
• Experience leveraging AI for software development
• Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAC, Datasphere)

The proposed salary for this position is:

$96,400—$210,000 USD
