Job summary

SAIC in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Senior Rust Developer to design, secure, and optimize high‑performance software running on Red Hat platforms in support of Army programs. You will work with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, architecture, and technical direction for mission‑critical systems.

You will implement memory‑safe, concurrent Rust code, perform unit testing and security hardening per DoD standards, and integrate applications with CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with nine years of experience.
• Active Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
• Strong knowledge of Rust, memory-safe concurrency, and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, high-performance Rust applications for Red Hat platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements and architecture.
• Implement memory-safe, concurrent Rust code and efficient data handling.
• Integrate applications with CI/CD pipelines and Red Hat toolchains.
• Conduct unit testing, code reviews, static analysis, and security hardening.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues in RHEL environments and produce documentation.
