Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience writing applications in Ruby.
• 3 years’ experience using Ruby on Rails and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Apache web server.
• 3-5 years’ experience with object-oriented programming.
• Working knowledge of other web frameworks (Perl, PHP, JSP, ASP, ColdFusion).
• Unix/Linux system architecture knowledge.
• Experience with common command line tools.
• Ability to analyze performance and tuning of databases and VM threads.
• MySQL or equivalent database systems experience.
• ACID database concepts and SQL practices to avoid deadlocks.
• Experience with other modern Unix dynamic languages (Perl, Python, PHP, Bash).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot application issues including runtime bottlenecks and query optimization.
• Develop and maintain Ruby/Rails-based applications.
• Collaborate in a Unix/Linux environment using terminal tools.
