Job summary

Taylor Corporation is seeking a Senior RPG Engineer to join its team in a remote role based in the United States, with MN remote options. The position focuses on planning, analysis, and implementation of web and Windows software applications, plus QA and ongoing modernization tasks.

Collaboration with users and teams is essential. Qualified candidates have 10+ years’ programming experience, RPG IV/ILE, SQL Server, and experience with web services.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of programming experience.
  • Experience with RPG IV/ILE and FREE-form RPG.
  • Database experience with SQL Server and stored procedures.
  • Experience with web services (XML/JSON).
  • Experience with ALDON or other source control.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, analyze, and implement web and Windows software applications.
  • Quality assurance including unit testing, bug reports, and automated notifications.
  • Adopt new technology, enhancing policies and standards.
  • Contribute knowledge within project teams across e-commerce/web initiatives.
  • Other duties including server/IIS setup, database maintenance, IT project planning.

It’s time to look at Taylor.**Your Opportunity:** Taylor Corporation is seeking a **Senior RPG Engineer** to join their team!**Work Authorization:** To be considered for the Taylor opportunities, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. **Your Responsibilities:*** Planning, analysis, and implementation of web and windows software applications.* Quality assurance including unit testing, bug reports, and automated notifications.* Following new technology and best practices, enhancing technical policies and standards.* Contributing technical and process knowledge/skills within project teams, including involvement in e-commerce and web development business initiatives.* Other duties as assigned, including server/IIS setup, database maintenance, and overall IT project planning.**You Must Have:*** 10+ years of programming experience* Experience with Scott Klement’s HTTPLIB API’s, RPGIV/ILE/FREE* Database experience table/index creation, CL programming, creating/consuming web services, XML or Json files* ILE binding and using binding directories* Aldon or other source management experience* Ability to work independently and in a team environment* Ability to work closely with users throughout the lifecycle of application development and deployment* Ability to demonstrate programming knowledge level* Analysis, planning and implementation of web and windows software applications* Understanding of and ability to demonstrate object-oriented programming principles* Ability to logically structure applications to promote loose coupling* Ability to understand and implement event driven application development and multithreading* SQL Server (schemas, queries, stored procedures) – Should be able to write store procedures and interact with SQL server database using .NET, WCF/Web API services**We Would Also Prefer:*** Solid understanding of I-series operations* Experience with a WMS (Warehouse management system)*The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
