Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Route/Switch Network Engineer to support a leading government services organization within the defense industry at Fort Meade.

This role requires an active TS/SCI Clearance and is onsite five days per week. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on Cisco routing and switching, BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, and automation using Python.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise routing and switching environments.
• Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCIE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise routing and switching environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches.
• Perform advanced network analysis and resolve complex connectivity issues.
• Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python.
• Utilize GitHub for version control and collaboration on automation.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and operations teams to ensure reliable network services.
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and procedures.
