Job summary

The role requires 10+ years of conceptual rotorcraft design, a BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Travel up to 10% and onsite work at Redstone Arsenal.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience performing conceptual rotorcraft design and weight estimation.
• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Direct experience performing weights analyses and developing weight trends.
• Experience using NDARC and Air Vehicle Integrated Design Environment (AIDEN).
• Experience conducting rotorcraft trade studies to define and explore trade space.

Responsibilities

• Collect and curate data to update weight equations and trends for aircraft studies.
• Assess vendor aircraft weights against existing trends and models.
• Use NDARC for detailed modeling and performance assessment.
• Provide input on technology factors used in NDARC model calibration.
• Explore requirements trade space and advise on operational impacts of design features.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for system-level assessments of components.
• Help develop and test new tools used in the design process.
