Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking a Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Americas Operations Machinery team. This role leads troubleshooting, root‑cause investigations, and optimization of rotating machinery across U.S. facilities, with travel to La Porte and Baytown areas.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in compressors, turbines, expanders, pumps, gearboxes, cooling towers, and other rotating equipment, plus strong diagnostics and independent decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years rotating equipment experience; 10 years preferred.
• Travel up to 30% within La Porte & Baytown areas.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot machinery issues and failures, review operating trends, define inspection scopes and repair plans; lead RCA and reliability improvements.
• Lead technical support during overhauls, turnarounds/outages of large rotating machinery.
• Lead projects to improve reliability and efficiency and implement best practices.
• Support re-rating and optimization of existing machinery to meet plant needs.
• Act as technical mentor for operations and maintenance teams.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability and lifecycle performance across the network.
