Job summary

G Fedale is seeking a Service Technician to handle customer service requests, assess repairs on-site, and propose appropriate solutions and up-sell opportunities. You will coordinate with the Service Scheduler, obtain customer agreement, and perform repairs with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 5+ years in home building/remodeling, strong math, CRM use, and excellent communication. A valid driver's license and reliable insured vehicle are needed to start each day.

Qualifications

• High school degree required; additional construction/estimating/customer service training is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in home building, remodeling, or renovation markets as a skilled tradesman, independent contractor, or project manager.
• Understanding contracts for construction services or financing.
• Basic understanding of home insurance and claims processing.
• Strong 4-function math skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills using a service-oriented CRM system, including mobile access.
• Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to stay calm and be clear with customers, staff, and vendors.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities, and react quickly to changing information.
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions; clean, reliable, insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Responds to service requests from the Service Scheduler on smaller or less complex projects.
• Meets with the Customers to assess the situation, visits site, inspects area of concern, and determines a course of action.
• Gains agreement with the Customer on how to proceed, confirms payment terms, and begins repairs on projects estimated to cost $2,000 or less.
• Orders materials when necessary and ensures truck has sufficient materials to cover most repairs.
• Completes all service calls to Company standards and finishes work within projected time.
• Secures payment when appropriate and connects Customer with Billing Specialist for e-check or credit card payments.
• Closes out the work order, informs Service Scheduler of completion, and reports issues encountered.
• Provides feedback to Sales, Marketing, and Production; seeks to improve productivity daily.
• Follows all Company safety rules and completes other tasks as assigned.
