Job description

Prime Vision develops intelligent automation solutions for postal, parcel, and fulfillment operations worldwide. By bringing together robotics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and decision systems, we help customers improve sorting capacity, operational efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to design, develop, and scale production‑grade software systems that power autonomous mobile robots and intelligent logistics solutions.

In this role, you will work across backend services, autonomy pipelines, sensor integrations, and distributed systems that connect artificial intelligence, perception technology, and real‑time robotics. You will play an important role in developing reliable, scalable systems that operate in complex, high‑volume logistics environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build scalable APIs and microservices using FastAPI and Node.js.
  • Develop and maintain real‑time messaging and event‑driven systems using MQTT and Kafka.
  • Design and optimize data storage solutions using PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Build software interfaces and data pipelines for sensors, including LiDAR, cameras, and inertial measurement units.
  • Integrate robotics software with AI, computer vision, and perception systems.
  • Collaborate with frontend teams using React or Vue to develop operator tools and user interface integrations.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, KVM, and GitHub Actions.
  • Analyze system logs, telemetry, and field data to identify software defects, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, system testing, and technical documentation.
  • Support the testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of robotic systems in customer environments.
  • Travel up to 25% to support deployments, testing, and customer projects.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience building backend systems and APIs using FastAPI and Node.js.
  • Experience working with frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and distributed messaging technologies such as MQTT and Kafka.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, asynchronous programming, and real‑time software systems.
  • Experience with ROS or ROS 2 and production robotics software.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly in distributed or field‑deployed systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across software, robotics, AI, support, and project teams.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
  • Experience deploying and managing software using Docker, Kubernetes, and KVM.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD automation tools.
  • Experience integrating AI or machine learning models into production robotics workflows.
  • Experience with cloud robotics, distributed systems, or robotics simulation environments such as Gazebo or NVIDIA Isaac Sim.
  • Experience developing solutions for logistics, warehouse automation, parcel handling, or material‑handling environments.
  • Familiarity with autonomous mobile robots and robotic fleet management systems.
