KUKA in Michigan seeks an experienced Robot Engineer III to design, program, commission and optimize robotic systems for body-in-white and related applications. You will lead projects, configure robots with external axes, and implement vision and force control.

The role requires 6+ years in automation, proficiency with FANUC, KUKA and ABB, strong documentation skills, and willingness to travel up to 25%. You will mentor junior engineers and own key portions of the codebase.

Formación

• B.S. degree in Robotics Engineering or equivalent education/work experience.
• 6+ years in automation.
• Proficiency with FANUC, KUKA and ABB platforms.
• Experience with Engine/Transmission assembly or related bodies-in-white.
• Robot configuration with external axes, multi-arm setups, vision and force control.
• Experience with RoboGuide/Work Visual/RobotStudio.
• Machine commissioning including I/O checkout, Ethernet/IP setup, and safety testing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development and optimization of robotic systems across diverse applications.
• Commission and debug stations with vision and force sensors.
• Provide expert technical support to minimize downtime.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation and schematics.
• Integrate robotic systems with other automation components.
• Analyze and optimize cycle times for efficiency.
• Own portions of the robot codebase and libraries.
