Job summary

Senra Systems is building a new model for complex manufacturing, starting with electrical wire harnesses. A Senior Robotics Engineer will own robotics on production lines, combining classical methods with learning-based approaches to create maintainable, high‑performing cells.

The role sits on a small, high‑ownership team; you’ll own hardware and software end to end, collaborating with the cofounder and senior engineers to scale automation across lines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying robotic systems on real production lines.
• Rapid prototyping, testing on real hardware, and iteration to reliable results.
• Experience programming industrial or collaborative robot arms (UR, FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
• Experience with perception and controls on real robots, sensing and machine vision.
• Exposure to learning-based robotics (imitation learning, robot foundation models, sim-to-real).
• Strong Python and C++, robotics tool familiarity, production software habits.
• Mechanical design to create fixtures and end effectors in CAD.
• Ability to own a technical area end to end and mentor others.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own robotic line cells from concept to proven on-line performance.
• Handoff of cells to industrial engineering with ongoing software ownership.
• Architect systems integrating hardware, motion planning, controls, sensing, perception.
• Develop new capabilities like perception, inspection, and machine tending for lines.
• Integrate learned skills and models into cells and feed production data back to training.
• Design repeatable cell architectures for multiple lines and sites.
