Job summary

Fives Group is seeking a Robotic Automation Engineer to lead programming and integration of FANUC and NACHI robotic systems for MIG welding in BIW environments. The role involves on-site work at locations in Ohio and Illinois, with support through commissioning and startup.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on robotic welding experience, strong English communication, and a solid background in automated welding processes to improve weld quality and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience programming FANUC and NACHI robotic systems.
• 2+ years in robotic MIG welding, preferably BIW/Bodyshop.
• Strong communication skills in English for cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and optimize robotic MIG welding paths on FANUC and NACHI platforms.
• Set robot positioning, torch orientation, travel angles, and stick-out for welding tasks.
• Tune welding programs and parameters to improve quality and reduce defects.
• Maintain TCP calibration procedures and document version histories.
• Support integration and commissioning from setup to production launch.
• Troubleshoot robotic, welding, and system issues during production.
• Establish and enforce programming standards per project requirements.
• Coordinate with controls, mechanical, welding, quality, and maintenance teams.
