Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities for structural quality and safety in the Washington, DC area. This on-site role requires interpreting plans, specifications, and codes to ensure conformance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to interpret plans, specs and codes for field inspection.
• Experience in roadway construction inspection is preferred.
• Must meet client certification requirements; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, layouts, specs and construction methods for safety and compliance.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and materials as needed.
• Measure and verify elevations and alignments to ensure plan conformance.
• Coordinate and supervise inspection activities across all project phases.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate meetings and resolve field issues.
• Maintain accurate records and field notes; respond to inquiries.
