Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is seeking an experienced RL Data Platform engineer. You will design and ship web interfaces for data annotation, build backend services and data pipelines, and work with RL researchers to shape data collection and training signals.

You will own end-to-end delivery, ensure reliability, and advocate for data quality and measurable impact. The team emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, thoughtful tooling, and scalable data systems.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack engineering with TypeScript/React frontend and Python backend.
• Experience designing and operating backend services and data pipelines.
• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership of projects.
• Comfort working with technical stakeholders and evolving requirements.
• Effective use of AI tools in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the feedback and data collection interfaces used by annotators, domain experts, and researchers.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and pipelines routing model samples to humans and returning feedback to training.
• Own reliability, latency, and usability of systems running against live model endpoints.
• Collaborate with RL researchers to translate data needs into collection campaigns and tooling.
• Build dashboards and inspection tools to monitor data quality and throughput.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks between data requests and training data.
