Job summary

Cherokee Strategic Edge is seeking a Risk Mitigation Specialist to support USSOCOM. The role provides near real-time risk assessments and mitigation recommendations for security, CI analytics, and operations across DoD and interagency partners.

The candidate must hold a TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph and have extensive experience in risk mitigation and FOIC-related analyses.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Policy, Government, International Affairs/Relations, or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of combined work experience in Risk Mitigation, with at least 10 years since 2015 within USSOCOM Enterprise or interagency equivalent.
• Ability to define problems, supervise studies, and lead surveys to collect and analyze data for advisory purposes.
• Demonstrates analytic leadership and expertise in identifying, planning, developing, and executing analytic production methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of FOCI mitigation and related reviews, analyses, and evaluations.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data sets to validate risks for client priorities.
• Assess global risks and threats, supporting CI analytics for SOF, HUMINT operations and supply chain activities.
• Collaborate with CI analysts to present threats and risk probabilities.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for proposed operations, technologies, or partnerships.
• Design and recommend countermeasures to reduce identified risks.
• Prepare and deliver tailored security, CI, and OPSEC briefings.
• Liaise with legal, policy, and technical experts to ensure strategies are effective and compliant.
• Monitor compliance with agency security policies and report on remediation.
• Review after-action reports to identify systemic issues and improvements.
• Serve as primary security and risk advisor to leaders of teams.
• Prepare and present risk assessments and recommendations to senior decision-makers.
• Collaborate with IC counterparts to deconflict activities and share threat information.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
