Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced risk professional who has supported large scale construction projects.

You will lead end-to-end risk management activities, including cost and schedule risk assessments, reporting, and collaboration with program control teams. The role requires deep knowledge of risk identification, facilitation and methods, plus strong communication and negotiation skills to support client

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or field related to construction.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of applicable experience.
  • Procurement and contract management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience within a Program Management or Program Controls environment.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with risk identification, facilitation and techniques.
  • Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of construction contracts, commercial models, and delivery methods.
  • Proficient in process mapping, root causes analysis, problem solving, and value-stream mapping.
  • Familiarity with web-based database tools – ARM, Predict, Tableau.
  • Highly self-motivated, analytical, and customer centric.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling and drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.
  • Use risk data to inform investment planning.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure and assess the remaining risk budget.
  • Work with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and their views on client-held risks.
  • Produce risk reports to support communication of threat and opportunity status.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendis looking forSeniorRisk Managerto joinourgrowing team. The ideal individual will be anexperiencedrisk professional that has supported large scale construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points tofacilitaterisk cost profiling,timelydrawdown of riskbudgetor retirement of threat/opportunity.
  • Use risk data to inform investment planning.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure andassessthe remaining risk budget.
  • Work with contractors to assesscontractorsheld risks and their views on client held risks thatimpactupon them.
  • Produce risk reports as required,in a timely manner, to support the effective communication ofthreatand opportunitystatus.
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
  • Initiate a proactive approach to the review,developmentand improvement ofriskmanagementservicesforthe client.
  • Undertake end-to-end project risk managementpracticeson multiple projects/programs.
  • Undertake the creation of risk management plans and processes in adherence to client requirements, processes,policies,and frameworks.
  • Conduct risk reviews at regular intervals,identifyand analyze,determineresponse plans, ensure that project and program risk profiles are beingmonitoredand reported.
  • Lead and run a comprehensive schedule andcost-effectiverisk assessment (QCRA & QSRA) processis delivered.
  • Establish integration of the risk management function within the program and project controls team, with direct touch points to cost and schedule management, changecontrol,and reporting.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with program and project control teams toeliminateredundancies andidentifyimprovement opportunities.
  • Provide opportunities tofacilitatethe transfer of knowledge within the immediate risk team, to the greater project controlsteam,and to the client. The transfer of knowledge may include informal one-on-one discussions with client stakeholders and more formal presentations to clients and colleagues.
  • Create value stream mapping to quantify pain points and develop solutions to minimize waste (both in terms of speed and cost).
  • Collaborate on the supplier performance management program including the collection of performance metrics andtrackingsupplier improvement action plans.
  • Demonstrate a level of support to expert witnesses in arbitral or ligation processes.
  • Lead, manage, andcarry outconstruction stage contract and claims management.
  • Carry out assessment of contractual claimsin accordance withthe contract.
  • Provide strategic and contractual advice on disputes and related resolution issues.
  • Carry out change management and construction stage cost control.
  • Supervise the measurement and valuation of completed works and variations.
  • Manage the settlement of final accounts withcontractors
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying,engineeringor field related to construction.
  • Minimum5-7years of applicable experience
  • Relevant construction project procurement and contract management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience within a Program Management or Program Controlsenvironment
  • Deep knowledge and experience with riskidentification,facilitationand techniques.
