Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA seeks a Senior Project Risk Manager to lead risk management for the ALS-U upgrade. You will identify emerging risks, challenge assumptions, and guide critical project decisions through quantitative analysis and executive reporting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in project risk management, project controls, or quantitative cost and schedule analysis supporting large capital projects.
• Experience developing and maintaining formal risk management processes, including risk registers, risk workshops, mitigation planning, and management reporting.
• Experience performing quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis, including risk modeling, contingency analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations.
• Experience supporting large infrastructure, scientific, construction, aerospace, defense, utility, transportation, or other complex capital projects.
• Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 and risk analysis tools such as Safran Risk Manager, Safran Risk, or similar platforms.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and translate complex risk information into actionable recommendations for leadership.

Our client, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), is seeking an experienced Senior Project Risk Manager to support the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U). You'll work alongside engineering, Project Controls, and senior leadership to identify emerging risks, challenge assumptions, evaluate cost and schedule uncertainty, and help guide critical project decisions.

This role combines hands‑on risk leadership with quantitative analysis, including risk workshops, risk registers, Monte Carlo simulation, contingency analysis, schedule integration, mitigation tracking, and executive reporting.

• Location: Berkeley, CA (primarily onsite)
• Duration: 1-year contract with potential extension
• Pay Rate: $90/hour
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
