Job summary

Capstone Investment Advisors is seeking a Senior Risk Engineer (Senior Vice President) to join its Risk Technology team in New York. The role combines software engineering, risk analytics and market understanding to deliver production-grade risk and decision-support capabilities.

You will own end-to-end development, partner with Portfolio and Risk Managers, and drive practical investment insights by turning complex risk data into actionable analytics, including stress scenarios and margin

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, quantitative development or risk technology within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank or comparable capital-markets environment.
• Strong track record of designing, building and supporting production-grade risk, pricing or trading systems from definition through delivery.
• Advanced Python / Java and SQL skills, plus APIs, data pipelines and large-scale processing.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and own production-grade components of Capstone’s Risk Technology platform, ensuring performance, scalability, reliability and usability.
• Build cross-asset risk capabilities spanning Greeks, stress scenarios, VaR, P&L vectors and attribution.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Risk Managers and Quant Research to solve complex derivatives and risk challenges from problem definition to production.
• Create APIs, data pipelines and interactive tools to show changes, drivers and recommended actions at trade, POD, strategy and fund levels.
• Translate pricing and risk methodologies into scalable services with clear model assumptions, calibration and controls.
• Advance Risk Intelligence by turning research and analytics into practical investment insights through AI and NLP.
• Engineer and operate resilient risk services with strong data lineage and end-to-end production ownership.
• Contribute to the Risk Technology roadmap with cross-team collaboration and adhere to engineering standards.
