Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Vice President in Risk Governance and Controls to design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive control framework for quantitative modeling and analytics. You will partner with model developers, validators, and senior stakeholders to ensure integrity across the modeling lifecycle and strengthen the control environment.

You will lead risk and control activities, use AI/ML, SQL, Python, and Tableau to enhance testing, and monitor regulatory developments to keep controls

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services with a focus on risk governance, controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks and issue management in a quantitative or modeling environment.
• Experience with model risk management principles (e.g., SR 11-7, OCC 2011-12).
• Proficiency with data analytics tools such as AI/ML, SQL, Python, Tableau to support control testing and validation.
• Ability to manage multiple complex priorities and lead structured work across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a risk and control framework for the Risk Modeling team.
• Partner with model owners, validators, and stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate modeling risks.
• Embed best practices in risk identification, control design, and issue management.
• Oversee control functions including risk self-assessments, control testing, and documentation of key controls.
• Use data analytics and automation to strengthen control testing, monitoring, and validation.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update controls accordingly.
• Prepare reports and dashboards on control effectiveness and remediation status for senior management.
• Lead issue management including root cause analysis and sustainable remediation.
• Support audits and regulatory exams with expertise on risk modeling controls.
• Collaborate across Risk Management, Compliance, Testing Center of Excellence, Audit, and Technology teams to improve the control environment.
