Job summary

Aegon is seeking an experienced risk leader to drive end-to-end risk management for Protection Solutions and Savings & Investment. You will identify, assess, monitor, mitigate, and report operational risks while partnering with leaders to maintain a strong risk profile.

The role requires leading control testing, risk assessments, and remediation across diverse initiatives, with a hybrid work arrangement in the United States and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Eight years of experience in risk management, operational risk management, internal controls, audit or compliance disciplines.
• Experience leading operational risk management, internal controls, audit, compliance, or governance activities.
• Expertise in control testing and operating effectiveness assessments.
• Knowledge of risk management principles including risk assessments and remediation.
• Strong analytical skills to identify risk trends and changing risk levels.
• Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end risk activities including risk assessments, control evaluations, testing, monitoring, and remediation.
• Support risk management for major PS&SI initiatives and strategic projects.
• Recommend process and control improvements to strengthen risk mitigation and efficiency.
• Manage risk issue activities from identification to remediation tracking.
• Challenge process owners on risk decisions and remediation plans.
• Advise leaders on complex risk matters and provide recommended actions.
• Provide guidance on process reviews, control design, and automation opportunities.
• Develop and maintain risk reporting dashboards and management reporting.
