Job summary

Coates Field Service, Inc is seeking a Right of Way Agent for an electric transmission project in Springfield, IL. The successful candidate will be experienced in acquiring linear right of way for private landowners, and able to adapt to tight deadlines to meet project deliverables.

Local candidates preferred. No per diem available. You will negotiate, document, and manage communications with landowners, travel regularly, and support project milestones across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience acquiring ROW for private landowners and public utilities.
• Strong negotiation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel regularly and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Obtains right of entry and survey permission from private landowners.
• Negotiates and acquires property rights for electric transmission.
• Documents all communication with landowners (in-person, email, phone, mail).
• Responds to stakeholder inquiries related to property rights.
• Investigates and acquires temporary ROW areas for driveways and lay down areas.
• Submits executed documents for countersignature, payment, and recording.
• Serves as legal witness for condemnation or related proceedings.
• Other duties as assigned.
