OpenLight, based in Goleta, CA, is seeking a test engineer to design, automate, and execute test solutions for Silicon Photonics devices and PICs at wafer, die, and package levels. You will work on 100-400 Gb/s eye testing, DVT for transceivers, and develop custom test hardware and software using industry-standard equipment.
You will write and debug Python scripts, analyze data, and communicate results to customers and internal teams.
As a member of OpenLight’s test engineering team based in Goleta, CA, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers in designing, implementing, automating and executing test solutions to validate the functionality of Silicon Photonics devices and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) at the wafer- , die-, and package levels. The testing focus is high-speed modulator testing of S parameters and eye diagrams with bandwidth up to 400 Gb/s. OpenLight continues with a hybrid schedule, with a standard of three days/week in office; you select the days you're in, based on what's best for your work priorities.
OpenLight's salary for technical roles is dependent on the skills and experience of the individual, their primary work location, and other parameters; annual salary will generally be somewhere between $120,000-$205,000. In addition to cash compensation, OpenLight offers incentive stock options (ISOs), generous insurance support, 401k matching, unlimited vacation, spot bonuses, and a positive work environment.
