Job summary

Venus Aerospace in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer to design, build, and flight test state-of-the-art propulsion telemetry. You will lead evaluation of link budgets, and the design of both ground stations and onboard radios and antennas to ensure flight‑ready systems.

You will collaborate across Flight Software, Avionics, IT, GN&C, Aerodynamics, and Structures, while coordinating with external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of RF telemetry experience in rocket, missile or space applications.
• Experience in ground systems, antennas, radios and onboard hardware.
• Experience with HITL testing and system integration.
• Ability to design, analyze, and test RF propulsion telemetry in harsh environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and fly telemetry systems for rocket propulsion.
• Lead architecture and selection of telemetry hardware, radios, antennas, and ground stations.
• Perform link analysis across flight regimes to guide vehicle capability improvements.
• Develop ground stations and networks for data capture and command transmission.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to meet program goals.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware evaluations and procurement.
• Produce and review requirements, ICDs, schematics, and test plans.
