Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior RF Systems Engineer with a strong background in Electronic Warfare (EW) and communications systems. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience in the defense industry, leading systems engineering efforts across the full lifecycle of RF systems development. This role requires a deep understanding of RF design, integration, and testing, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform highly complex assignments for RF-based EW and communication systems by compiling and evaluating design and test data, preparing technical specifications, and analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for requirements and systems performance.
- Develop system architectures, requirements, and specifications.
- Oversee integration and testing of RF systems in laboratory and field environments.
- Perform trade studies, modeling, and simulation to support design decisions.
- Ensure compliance with defense standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and interpret complex data, taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
- Prepare and present advanced technical reports and presentations to clients, both formal and informal.
- Lead complex technical projects and provide technical direction to and coordinate the efforts of engineers and technical support staff within time and budget constraints.
- Review project progress and evaluate results.
- Recommend modifications and corrections in technical analyses and design to ensure project completion.
- Prepare technical sections of proposals; may manage proposals or major sections of large proposals.
- Build relationships with internal and external clients, preparing and presenting final reports to stakeholders.
- Contribute to IR&D studies and lead IR&D tasks, working on projects involving innovative methods or applications.
- Support business development efforts led by others and maintain business interactions with external clients.
- Provide technical expertise to marketing and project development, investigating new project opportunities.
- Participate in Battelle-sponsored conferences and scientific conferences, peer review panels, and increase company visibility through publications.
Key Qualifications
- Design and develop RF systems including transmitters, receivers, and transceivers for EW and communications applications.
- Lead antenna design efforts, including simulation, prototyping, and performance validation for defense-related RF systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in RF systems engineering within the defense industry.
- Expertise in Electronic Warfare and communications systems.
- Strong knowledge of RF design, signal processing, and system integration.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
- Proficiency in requirements management and systems engineering processes.
- Active Secret Clearance; TS/SCI eligible.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
